Nut Butter!

Making nut butter is so easy, you don’t even need a recipe, and it’s cheaper and healthier than the ones from the store and you can control the salt content and try different nuts and spices. You can make a big batch and give them away as gifts. Feels so good to do that.

Homemade Nut Butter
You can make nut butter with almost any kind of nuts like peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, pecans, etc., or you can use a mix of them. They sell mixed nut butter at the store for $9 to $11. Ridiculous!

Make sure you get unsalted and raw nuts and organic. You can also try roasting them lightly in a dry pan or in the oven for a few minutes (optional) for more depth in flavor. It does make a difference.

Start with 1 cup of nuts or more in a food processor and let it rip, and in a few minutes you’ll see the nuts turn into a buttery consistency. That’s your nut butter! You can add some sea salt or spices, or some olive oil for creaminess, but it’s simply yummy on its own. Make a nut butter and jelly sandwich on the spot and go to heaven!

Store the nut butter in a glass jar in a cool place and enjoy for a couple of weeks at least.
