Food Health

EWG’s Dirty Dozen 2021!

For the 6th year, strawberries topped as having the most pesticide; more than 22 different varieties on a single strawberry! Third of the list had more than 10 pesticides. And it goes beyond food, because more than 98% of pesticides sprayed go directly into the air, water, and soil and right into our bodies. And the insects become immune to the pesticide faster, resulting in even more toxic chemicals every year.

The answer is simple as it has been for centuries. Grow organic, natural foods that are good for our health, animals, and our planet, using natural methods for fighting insects and disease. It’s a win win all around.

Still Not Convinced?
Grab a can of insecticide in your home and spray it on a fruit or any food and try eating it. The insecticide you have at home is mild compared to what they spray repeatedly in large doses in commercial agricultural fields.

In the past decade the demand for organic food has exploded and the stores big and small cannot keep up. Currently only 1% of US farms are organic, but the government continues to subsidize more than 95% of commercial agriculture that uses pesticides and herbicides, which means we (taxpayers) pay for all the pesticide that is ruining our health and our planet. And studies repeatedly show a correlation between increase of diseases such as cancer with toxic foods, preservatives, and pollution.

What We Can Do
We ultimately hold the power with consumer power.
Let’s take back our health by selecting organic foods with our money. It will increase the demand for clean, real, organic food, and decrease the supply of pesticide ridden foods. By choosing healthy foods, we can prevent and fight diseases and disorders and save ourselves, animals, and our one and only planet.
